MILITARY BUDGET:

In 2018 India allocated 4 trillion rupees of its GDP to support its 1.4 million active troops according to (IISS) Pakistan spent 1.26 trillion Pakistani rupees about 3.6 percent of its GDP to support its troops .

MISSILES AND NUCLEAR WEAPONS:

India-Pakistan nuclear weapon

 Both nations have ballistic missiles capable of delivering nuclear weapons.India has nine type of operational missiles including Agni-3 a range of 3000 km to 5000 km according to (CSIS).Pakistan's missile programme built with Chinese assistance includes mobile short and medium range weapons that can reach any part of India. Shaheen-2 has the longest range up to 2000 km .Pakistan has confirmed that it acquired tactical nuclear weapon capability where in small nuclear warheads are attached to short range missiles (50-100 km)against relatively small scale conventional Indian attack.

ARMY:

Indian Army 

India has 1.2 million strong army supported by more than 3,565 battle tanks,3100 infantry,336 armoured and 9,719 pieces of artillery.                   

Pakistan Army 

Pakistan's army is smaller with 5,60,000 troops backed by 2496 tanks,1,605 armoured carriers and 4,472 artillery guns.

Despite India's larger army, the capability of India's convential forces is limited by inadequate logistics, maintenance and shortage of ammunition.

AIR FORCE:                               

Indian Air force 

With 127200 personnel ,814 combat aircraft.India's airforce is substantially larger but concerns about its fighter jet fleets. India's defence plans require 42 squadrons and 750 aircraft's to defend against Pakistan .     

Pakistan Air force 

Pakistan has 425 combat aircrafts including Chinese origin F-7PG and American F-16 fighting falcon jets.It has 7 air bone early warning and control aircraft three more than India. Pakistan air force is modernising its inventory while improving precision strike.

NAVY:                      

Indian Navy

Indian Navy consists of one aircraft carrier,16 submarine,14 destroyers,13 frigates,106 patrol and Costal combatant vessels and 75 combat-capable aircraft.                         

Pakistan Navy

Pakistan which has significantly smaller coastline has 9 frigates,8 submarines,17 patrol and 8 combat-capable aircraft.
